Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on April 28, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 9,410 COVID-19 cases, 239 patients died, 992 patients recovered. In total 639 cases in children and 1,843 in medical workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 401 new cases have been confirmed.

As of April 28, coronavirus disease was registered:

Vinnytsia region - 406 cases;

Volyn region - 260 cases;

Dnipropetrovsk region - 318 cases;

Donetsk region - 52 cases;

Zhytomyr region - 354 cases;

Zakarpattia region - 387 cases;

Zaporizhia region - 208 cases;

Ivano-Frankivsk region - 783 cases;

Kirovograd region - 356 cases;

Kyiv - 1298 cases;

Kyiv region - 604 cases;

Lviv region - 371 cases;

Luhansk region - 32 cases;

Mykolaiv region - 116 cases;

Odesa region - 248 cases;

Poltava region - 180 cases;

Rivne region - 553 cases;

Sumy region - 95 cases;

Ternopil region - 664 cases;

Kharkiv region - 221 cases;

Kherson region – 88 cases;

Khmelnytsky region - 72 cases;

Chernivtsi region – 1,429 cases;

Cherkasy region - 276 cases;

Chernihiv region - 39 cases.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not provided.

6,430 patients, out of this number 1,532 medical personnel are undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 2,980 people were hospitalized, including 311 healthcare workers. There are 121 people including 1 child and 7 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 239 people died with 132 men out of this number and 107 women, with 85% of deaths occurring in the 50 and above age group.

A total of 992 people including 209 medical personnel have already recovered - repeat laboratory testing has found no virus in body.

The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of April 28, 2020, the Center received 1,127 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 26,616 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect oneself from infection.
