Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 7, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 8,641 (390 children out of this number, 284 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 384,510.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,037 persons, 145 patients died, 5,123 persons recovered. There have been conducted 33,502 testing (27,881 using the PCR method and 5,621 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 821,947 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 423,704 people recovered;
  • 13,733 people died;
  • 4,807,961 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,526), Dnipropetrovsk region (960), Odesa region (662), Kyiv region (635) and Sumy region (477).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
