Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 24, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,385 (196 children out of this number, 141 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 346,796.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,588 persons, 75 patients died, 7,191 persons recovered. There have been conducted 15,332 testing (12,225 using the PCR method and 3,107 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,030,374 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 665,729 people recovered;
  • 17,849 people died;
  • 5,485,214 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (851), Zaporizhia region (472), Mykolayiv region (347), Dnipropetrovsk region (303), Kyiv region (283).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
