Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 22, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 10,136 (537 children out of this number, 422 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 356,810.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,979 persons, 275 patients died, 15,372 persons recovered. There have been conducted 61,445 testing (41,219 using the PCR method and 20,226 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 989,642 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 615,660 people recovered;
  • 17,172 people died;
  • 5,348,820 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,381), Zaporizhia region (887), Kyiv region (809), Odesa region (792), Kharkiv region (591).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
