Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 22, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 8,513 (415 children out of this number, 368 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 362,321.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,318 persons, 232 patients died, 14,020 persons recovered. There have been conducted 46,696 testing (26,341 using the PCR method and 20,355 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 979,506 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 600,288 people recovered;
  • 16,897 people died;
  • 5,307,601 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,159), Dnipropetrovsk region (992), Odesa region (914), Zaporizhia region (665), Kyiv region (559).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
