Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 18, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6,237 (413 children out of this number, 276 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 128,169.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2222 persons, 163 patients died, 5225 persons recovered. There have been conducted 64688 testing (28941 using the PCR method, 15056 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 20691).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1287141 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1134120 people recovered;
  • 24852 people died;
  • 6625529 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
