  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of May 17, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 2,136 (104 children out of this number, 47 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 243,223.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 940,160 people have been vaccinated. On May 16, 2021, 2,230 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 50 people got CoviShield vaccine, 328 – CoronaVac vaccine, 1,152 – Comirnaty vaccine, 700 - AstraZeneka.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,260 persons, 109 patients died, 6869 persons recovered. There have been conducted 17,306 testing (9,966 using the PCR method, 1,396 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 5,944).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 2,156,000 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,864,593 people recovered;
    • 48,184 people died;
    • 9,851,754 testings have been conducted.
