  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of March 17, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 11,833 (609 children out of this number, 388 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 222,361.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 71,923 people have been vaccinated, of whom 71,923 have received 1 dose, and 0 have completed vaccination (received 2 doses).

    On March 16, 2021, 9,840 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, of which 9,840 persons were vaccinated with 1 dose, vaccination was completed (2 doses) - 0 people.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 4,887 persons, 289 patients died, 5,467 persons recovered. There have been conducted 121,144 testing (50,966 using the PCR method, 22,035 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 48,143).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 1489023 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1237676 people recovered;
    • 28986 people died;
    • 7467108 testing have been conducted.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
