Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 31, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 9,699 (341 children out of this number, 439 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 326,521.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,704 persons, 209 patients died, 11803 persons recovered. There have been conducted 58547 testing (38932 using the PCR method and 19615 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,055,047 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 709,993 people recovered;
  • 18,533 people died;
  • 5,585,615 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,332), Kyiv region (669), Zaporizhia region (660), Kharkiv region (570), Odesa region (533).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
