Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 26, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,062 (221 children out of this number, 54 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 408,377.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 528,030 people have been vaccinated. On April 25, 2021, 1,114 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 210 people got CoviShield vaccine, 382 – CoronaVac vaccine, 522 – Comirnaty vaccine.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,061 persons, 195 patients died, 6,910 persons recovered. There have been conducted 25,248 testings (15,379 using the PCR method, 2,853 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 7,016).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,030,333 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1,579,438 people recovered;
  • 42,518 people died;
  • 9,256,290 testings have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
