Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 24, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 11,490 (488 children out of this number, 445 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 352,302.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,721 persons, 223 patients died, 15,775 persons recovered. There have been conducted 66,358 testing (42,132 using the PCR method and 24,226 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,001,132 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 631,435 people recovered;
  • 17,395 people died;
  • 5,390,952 testing have been conducted.

The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,377), Zaporizhia region (774), Odesa region (676), Kyiv region (666), Donetsk region (636).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
