
Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection
According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of May 19, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,138 (260 children out of this number, 187 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 217,091.
Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 957,348 people have been vaccinated. On May 18, 2021, 19,088 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 620 people got CoviShield vaccine, 6,070 – CoronaVac vaccine, 5,412 – Comirnaty vaccine, 7,126 - AstraZeneka.
During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,269 persons, 227 patients died, 17,102 persons recovered. There have been conducted 77,685 testings (31,935 using the PCR method, 13,094 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 32,656).
During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:
- 2,165,233 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
- 1,899,446 people recovered;
- 48,696 people died;
- 9,914,382 testings have been conducted.
