  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 19, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 6,506 (253 children out of this number, 98 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 425, 339.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 450 647 people have been vaccinated. On April 18, 2021, 1 453 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 689 people got CoviShield vaccine, 398 – CoronaVac vaccine, 366 – Comirnaty vaccine.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,387 persons, 214 patients died, 5598 persons recovered. There have been conducted 27 488 testings (15811 using the PCR method, 4037 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 7 640).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 1,953,016 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,487,677 people recovered;
    • 40,000 people died;
    • 8,958,482 testings have been conducted.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
