  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 16, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 17,479 (709 children out of this number, 378 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 416, 328.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 432,820 people have been vaccinated. On April 15, 2021, 13,520 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 12,725 people got CoviShield vaccine and 795 – CoronaVac vaccine.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 4,348 persons, 438 patients died, 12,054 persons recovered. There have been conducted 109,584 testings (47,421 using the PCR method, 19,030 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 43,133).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 1,921,244 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,465,820 people recovered;
    • 39,096 people died;
    • 8,869,518 testings have been conducted.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
