  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of October 8, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 244,734 COVID-19 cases, 108,233 people recovered, 4,690 patients died. During the 24 hours, 5,397 new cases have been officially confirmed.

    A total of 2,489,702 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method. During the 24 hours, 2,263 patients have recovered.

    As of October 8, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 7,197 cases;
    • Volyn region – 9,199 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 7, 994 cases;
    • Donetsk region – 5,118 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region – 7,457 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region – 10,473 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region – 5,007 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 14, 693 cases;
    • Kirovohrad region – 1,234 cases;
    • Kyiv – 25,896 cases;
    • Kyiv region – 10,490 cases;
    • Lviv region – 21,923 cases;
    • Luhansk region – 1,480 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region – 4,154 cases;
    • Odesa region – 15,704 cases;
    • Poltava region – 3,685 cases;
    • Rivne region – 13,798 cases;
    • Sumy region – 6,197;
    • Ternopil region – 14,979;
    • Kharkiv region – 22,712;
    • Kherson region – 1,636;
    • Khmelnytsky region – 7,732;
    • Chernivtsi region – 15,757;
    • Cherkasy region – 5,153;
    • Chernihiv region – 5,066.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
