Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 20, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 20,156 (2,464 children out of this number, 429 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 29,699,380 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15,109,351 people have been vaccinated. On January 20, 2022, 86,146 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 13,069 – CoronaVac vaccine, 64,051 – Comirnaty vaccine, 1,924 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 7,102.

Vaccination was carried out by 911 mobile immunization teams, 3,215 vaccination points and 441 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,226 persons, 150 patients died, 4,486 persons recovered. There have been conducted 109,562 testings (57,396 using the PCR method, 6,577 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 45,589).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,819,538 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,576,268 people recovered;
  • 98,993 people died;
  • 17,389,831 testings have been conducted.
