Ukraine sees an active phase of transformation, when the legal framework is changing, new rules of operation are being established, new ties are being created. The Government's position is to establish constructive cooperation with the national social partners. First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko said during a meeting with representatives of trade unions on September 29 in Kyiv.

"According to the previous accord, today we will consider the situation in several areas, especially sensitive to any changes and extremely important for citizens. Establishing this dialogue is a necessary component for the development of Ukraine, its successful interaction with the strong states of the world. The efforts of the Ministry of Economy are currently aimed at solving urgent problems and transforming Ukraine's economy," Oleksiy Lyubchenko said.

According to him, important steps in initiating systematic cooperation on issues relevant to society are the resumption of the National Tripartite Socio-Economic Council. The plans are to complete the work on processing the proposals of the current General Agreement for 2019-2021 in order to update and extend the effect. Work will soon begin on a new general agreement for a new term, which will include agreements and commitments on issues raised by trade unions.

The Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Hryhoriy Osovy noted the need to strengthen communication in the field of harmonization of legislative initiatives on labor legislation: "Now the VRU has for consideration over 20 draft laws in the area of regulation of labour relations, social protection, labour safety etc. The Government, as the core social partner, must be an active participant in the discussion of these projects and establish communication in order to develop a holistic position and reduce conflict situations."

For her part, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Svitlana Hlushchenko notes that finally, the time has come to update the regulation of labor relations: "The Ministry of Economy aims to change the national mindset and modernize the processes of legislative changes in the labor sphere towards deregulation and individualization of the solution of issues between employers and workers. Undoubtedly, and most importantly - without narrowing the guaranteed labor rights. This is the "red line" that we will never cross. We apply the best world practices. We stand ready for dialogue and joint work."
