The Government has today launched the Great Construction Program – it has approved a list of programs and projects to be funded by the State Regional Development Fund (SRDF). These include 402 projects, 206 of this amount are those projects within the framework of the Great Construction. Oleksiy Honcharuk said during a briefing on the outcomes of the Government session.

"The logic is that as soon as the season triggers, we begin construction activities in all possible areas and objects that have been determined. We are building apart from objects the new opportunities for people. Great Construction implies new workplaces and quality infrastructure – the objectives to be implemented this year. By the end of the year, we will build a minimum of 100 gardens, 100 schools, 100 stadiums and at least 4,000 km of roads across Ukraine,” said Oleksiy Honcharuk.

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development distributes the SRDF money among the regions taking into account the construction plans for the current year. Presently, it concerns the funding worth UAH 5.2 billion of the SRDF from the sum worth UAH 7.5 billion to be budgeted in 2020.

Oleksiy Honcharuk also added that due to favorable weather conditions, construction activities have already been launched in certain road sections.

All the preparatory work has already been finalized to commence construction on such important infrastructure objects as the Zaporizhia Bridge and the Lviv-Mariupol road junction.

Moreover, there has been approved the procedure for using the funds for the construction and reconstruction of the following corridors:

- Odesa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk along the section Odesa - Mykolayiv - Kherson;

- Kyiv - Sumy - Kharkiv within the boundaries of Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
