Oleksiy Honcharuk: The level of economic growth implies the success in curbing corruption, so it is critical to restart the work of NAPC
The level of economic growth of Ukraine depends on the success in curbing corruption, hence it is critical to restart the work of the National Agency on Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) and to hold independent high-quality selection process before December 18 to choose the chairman to the national anti-corruption agency. Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said in his opening statement at a meeting of the Competition Commission for the selection of head of the National Agency on Prevention of Corruption.
“The Government is doing its best to reload the NAPC work. We will adopt decisions as quickly as possible, choose the most honest, professionals with a good reputation. Under the same principle, we have selected the Commission that comprises just such people who are capable of making independent decisions,” said Oleksiy Honcharuk.
The PM expressed hope that the newly-formed independent Commission would select a person to restart the work of the national anti-corruption body. "This is a critical objective for the Government and for the country as well," Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized.
Among the main stages of the competition are: submission of applications to the Commission before November 19 (all applications will be published, thereby opening the possibility for active public participation in this process); the best candidates shall be interviewed in December; on December 18, the Commission shall announce the results of the competition and the Government shall make appropriate appointments aftermath.
