To ensure the implementation of the commission of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk instructed to strengthen security and prevention measures to contain the introduction and spread of the new 2019-nCoV coronavirus in Ukraine.
“The safety of Ukrainians around the world is task Number 1 for the Government. To date, no laboratory-confirmed cases among people have been reported in Ukraine. But we are ready for any scenario. From now on, the work of a specially established emergency response team is under my personal control,” the Head of Government emphasized.
Oleksiy Honcharuk commissioned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Infrastructure to promptly develop a plan and organize the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from China through the coronavirus outbreak.
By Monday morning, February 3, there should be a clear plan of action from the Ministry of Health to prevent the virus from the introduction and spreading it in Ukraine.
Moreover, Oleksiy Honcharuk instructed to promptly elaborate a National plan of anti-epidemic measures to respond to the spread of the virus with the involvement of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Infrastructure and a number of other services and agencies.
The Heads of the Regional State Administration and the State Administration in Kyiv should strengthen local protection measures.
Meanwhile, according to Oleksiy Honcharuk, the Government is considering the advisability of establishing the regime of high alert within the framework of a single state system of civil protection.
