Oleksii Reznikov met with the delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov had a meeting with the delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany led by the Chair of the Bundestag Defence Committee Mrs. Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann. The parties discussed strengthening of capabilities of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksii Reznikov thanked the parliamentarians and the people of Germany for their political support and practical assistance in supplying the necessary weapons and materiel to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“We have a positive trend in the development of bilateral relations in the field of defence. We maintain an effective and efficient dialogue with my colleague and Federal Minister of Defence of Germany Christine Lambrecht. We have achievements in the system of arms supply and in organization of training of Ukrainian service members. We are committed to further cooperation with Germany”, said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

He thanked the representatives of Germany who actually believe in and do everything for the victory of Ukraine and, consequently, for the security of Europe, noting that unfortunately not all politicians understand the realities that the civilized world is facing because of the russian aggression, and how the actions of the aggressor affect security in the region.

In the course of the meeting Oleksii Reznikov informed the foreign guests about the current situation and successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the frontline and stressed that the next months would be crucial in terms of developments on the battlefield.

“It is important for us to maintain the positive dynamics of further counter-offensive actions. We are interested in artillery systems, air defence systems to protect critical infrastructure, armoured combat vehicles, and tanks. These weapons would strengthen our army”, commented Oleksii Reznikov.

Mrs. Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann expressed readiness to support Ukraine at the political level. The members of the German delegation expressed their solidarity with the Ukrainian people and assured of further support for Ukraine.
