Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, held a working meeting with Dell Loy Hansen, founder of the charitable foundation “Hansen Ukrainian Mission” and one of the country’s most steadfast partners in providing housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The key topic was the launch of a pilot project in the town of Glevakha, Kyiv region, involving the construction of 700 housing units under a “15-year lease with an option to buy” model.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August. Discussions also covered future collaboration, including securing resources and developing municipal housing and social infrastructure such as schools, kindergartens, community clubhouses, and utility networks. This approach aims to comprehensively create new micro-communities for IDPs.

“Ukraine has a true friend in Dell Loy Hansen. His approach combines systematic planning, compassion, and strategic vision. We already share a common vision: to not just build housing but to develop communities. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership and look forward to expanding it,” said Oleksii Kuleba.

The meeting also explored possibilities for expanding the eVidnovlennia programme.

Notably, Hansen is one of the largest charitable investors in housing infrastructure for IDPs. Through the Charity Hansen Ukrainian Mission, he has already delivered several large-scale projects to provide housing and develop social infrastructure for Ukrainians affected by the war. In Kyiv region alone, over 4,000 IDPs have been provided with housing, comprising more than 900 homes in Tarasivka, Sofiivska Borshchahivka, Kolonshchyna, Moshchun, Buzova, and Makariv communities, with plans for Borodianka in the future.
