  • Oleksii Kuleba visited Sumy region with a working visit

    Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, inspected substations in Sumy region where construction of protective structures and restoration of power facilities after hostile attacks is underway.

    Despite the escalated situation in the region, preparations for the upcoming 2024-2025 heating season are underway.

    "The region lives in constant anxiety and daily shelling. Together with the communities, we are preparing for the winter. The protection of energy infrastructure is of utmost importance," said Oleksii Kuleba.

    The Deputy Prime Minister also chaired a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the restoration of life support systems in Sumy region with representatives of the President's Office, relevant ministries and agencies, Sumy Regional Military Administration, and local authorities.

    The key tasks discussed at the Headquarters included:

    • proper functioning of the network of the Points of Invincibility;
    • checking and supplementing social facilities with power supplies;
    • evacuation of people, development of logistics routes in case of emergencies;
    • ensuring access to all services of Ukrzaliznytsia and Ukrposhta for the population of Sumy region;
    • ensuring stable operation of mobile operators, including in limited energy supply conditions;
    • reliable energy supply to the settlements within 20 km of the border with russia.

    "People need to stay with heat and light. Especially when it comes to the border area. Stable mobile communications are also important. Today we have paid special attention to this," said Oleksiy Kuleba.
