Oleksii Kuleba held a meeting with the European Business Association regarding the need for backup power sources for housing and communal services enterprises
Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, held a meeting with the European Business Association team.
The main topic was joining forces to get through the difficult winter. Oleksii Kuleba thanked the EBA and all participating companies for their support from the very first days of the full-scale war.
Together with his deputies Oleksii Ryabikin and Kostiantyn Kovalchuk, they voiced the urgent needs for stabilising the energy system.
"This winter, russia is deliberately using the cold as a weapon. In the face of constant attacks, we must deploy additional capacity and reduce the load on the system. We need generators to power critical facilities. At the same time, we must repair the damaged infrastructure as quickly as possible. Therefore, we are not only talking about generators, but also a wider range of equipment for repairing networks," said Oleksii Kuleba.
The total demand for backup power sources for heat and water supply companies already exceeds 500 MW. The Government is forming a reserve of capacity – equipment that can be quickly transported to the most deficient areas of the country. The state has already allocated UAH 2.5 billion.
“By combining the efforts of the governments of partner countries and private businesses, we will get through this difficult winter,” concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
