On September 21, 2020, an online meeting between the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Larisa Galadza took place.

The parties discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Canada in the cultural sphere, in particular the ratification of the agreement on the joint production of audiovisual works.

The Minister informed about the preparations for the launch of the “Great Restoration” program, the establishment of cultural service centers, as well as the implementation of state programs to promote reading, development of domestic tourism and improve media literacy.

The Canadian party expressed interest in launching a cash rebate system in Ukraine and assured of its readiness to disseminate information about it among national filmmakers.

“I am grateful to our Canadian partners for their support. It is a pleasure to have a dialogue with colleagues who you do not have to prove that the possibilities of culture are extremely powerful, ”Oleksandr Tkachenko said following the meeting.
