  • Oleksandr Kubrakov: Together with the business community, we are joining forces to rebuild Ukraine

More than 100 Ukrainian and international companies and organisations attended the first meeting of the Business Advisory Group. This platform was created at the initiative of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and brings together representatives of various types of businesses interested in systemic work in Ukraine. Most of the participants in the meeting are also members of the Ukraine Business Compact initiative, under which some 600 companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to contribute to Ukraine’s recovery.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, stressed the importance of systematic cooperation between the state and the business community in the context of restoring damaged businesses.

“Business recovery, even in the context of a full-scale war, is a key element in restarting the regional economy and, consequently, in creating jobs, attracting foreign investment and post-war reconstruction of the country as a whole. The Ministry’s team has developed a Business Recovery Concept, which consists of clear, systematic steps to support entrepreneurs. In addition, the issue of attracting foreign investment, especially at the level of regions and territorial communities, remains important for improving the investment environment and creating new opportunities for development,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.

In addition, the meeting highlighted the most important, deficient and investment-attractive areas of business activity during the reconstruction phase, including the production of certain types of construction materials, investments in renewable energy, and the development of construction waste processing and disposal facilities.

During the meeting, the Business Advisory Group agreed to set up sectoral groups of representatives from the Ministry and the business community to develop a mechanism for effective and transparent involvement of businesses in the reconstruction process.
