Providing military assistance to Ukraine is the main topic of all international meetings at the Munich Security Conference. This issue was discussed during a meeting between Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, and Tytti Tuppurainen, Minister for European Affairs of Finland. The talks were held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the possibility of providing advisory and technical support needed to start restoring Ukrainian schools and kindergartens, in particular through transfer of relevant design projects.
“As of the end of January, more than 3,000 schools were damaged or destroyed. Such a scale of destruction and ongoing aggression force us to look for new approaches to construction and restoration of schools that would take into account existing security threats, possible power outages, etc. We are confident that our Finnish partners will help us in this, as their approach to construction of educational institutions is one of the best in Europe,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The Deputy Prime Minister also invited Finnish business, which had considerable expertise in construction, to join the restoration of Ukraine.
