At its meeting on April 22, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an agreement with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on cooperation in the framework of the implementation of the project "Housing for internally displaced persons".

According to the Agreement, a sum worth EUR 25.5 million will be allocated for the implementation of the project "Housing for internally displaced persons" which is aimed to provide accommodation for Ukrainian citizens who were forced to flee their homes as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories, Oleksii Reznikov, was authorized to sign the Agreement by Ukraine.

“We are making every effort to ensure that in the budget of Ukraine there were provided funds for the support of our citizens, who were forced to flee their homes in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in Crimea through the actions of the Russian Federation. Despite the quarantine cuts in budget expenditures for other ministries, as a result of the budget sequestration, a UAH 20 million resource for co-financing of the purchase of housing for IDPs and a UAH 20 million for compensation for the housing destroyed through the armed aggression of the Russian Federation have been preserved for our Ministry’s spendings. The support of our foreign partners, especially in matters related to the armed aggression of Russia, is rather critical to us, we appreciate it greatly,” stressed Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Reznikov.

As was reported earlier the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine preserved 2020 State Budget expenditures to co-finance the purchase of apartments for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the level of UAH 20 mn.
