The children of Ukraine should be happy, and adults should provide the measure of happiness that is necessary through increasing birth rate, support for motherhood and childhood. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman urged during the Government session.

"It is important to ensure that our children be happy. And the measure of happiness depends on the adults. It is worth remembering that we must create the environment enabling everyone to develop. It is crucial to make Ukrainians population grow and them happier", said Volodymyr Groysman.

He announced a number of Government decisions that would become the impetus for the development of childhood. Thus, the Government introduces a tradition of providing newborns with a special baby box, in which there will be gathered everything needed in first weeks of life of the infant. "Every child will receive a baby box from the state, packed with love, so that during the early stages of life of a child each mother had everything to care. This is the tradition we introduce to support birth rates. Hundreds of thousands of families will receive such additional targeted support", said the Prime Minister.

No less important, according to the Head of Government, is to help the mother, especially if she works. Pursuant to the decision of the Government and with the support of local authorities, in Ukraine since January, 2019, a concept of hiring a "municipal nanny" is introduced. Payment for her services will be partially offset from the budget.

"We adopt a decision in synergy with local governments, we introduce the concept "the municipal nanny" starting January 1. When hiring a nanny, the state will compensate for monthly wage costs, so that the child is under care", commented Volodymyr Groysman.

He emphasized that child protection and support should become the topmost priority for the Government.

"The only criterion for achieving welfare standards is higher birth rate", the Prime Minister noted.
