NJSC Naftogaz is obliged to reduce gas price for households by another UAH 265 in August

Naftogaz of Ukraine, in accordance with the commission of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, is obliged to reduce the price of natural gas for the population by another 265 UAH per thousand cubic meters in August.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 293 of April 3, 2019, NJSC Naftogaz Ukrayiny is obliged to sell gas for the population at the lowest price at one of four platforms since June:

1. Ministry of Economic Development and Trade - the average customs value of imported gas in July amounted to UAH 4,812 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT;

2. Ukrainian Energy Exchange – in August gas was sold at the price of UAH 4,654 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT;

3. NJSC Naftogaz Ukrayiny - gas for industry on pre-paid basis, set for August, was sold at UAH 4,640 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT;

4. Or at the price under the PSO (public service obligations) mechanism, in accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 867, which for July is calculated at UAH 7,185 per 1,000 cubic meters excluding VAT.

The lowest was the price set by the Naftogaz. Therefore, the price of gas in August for the population, excluding VAT without tariffs for transportation and supply, will make up UAH 4,640 per 1,000 cubic meters, which is less by UAH 265 than the price in July making up UAH 4,905.

It should be noted that on April 3 this year the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the decree # 293 and obliged NJSC Naftogaz to sell gas for the population cheaper starting from June.
