Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture: UAH 49.4 million allocated for restoration of Danube dam


The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 49.4 million for urgent emergency restoration works on the protective dam along the Danube River in Odesa region.

The funding will be provided to Odesa region from the state budget’s reserve fund on a non-repayable basis.

“The condition of the protective dam requires an urgent response. The allocated funding will make it possible to begin emergency restoration works without delay and prevent a man-made emergency. Above all, this is about the safety of the residents of Izmail and the protection of areas located near the Danube,” said Vitaliy Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The restoration works will strengthen the area’s protection against potential emergencies and help ensure safe living conditions for the population of Odesa region.
