Within the framework of international cooperation, July 22, representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ arrived to Donetsk region to discuss issues related to the implementation of the project on the training of rescuers of the consolidated territorial communities on the basis of the training point of the Emergency and Rescue Special Forces Detachment.

A State Emergency Service (SES) delegation led by Deputy Chairmen of the SES Ruslan Biloshytsky and Mykola Ilchenko, met foreign guests. Christian Poschmann, Head of the project "Support to Ukraine in Emergency Management", emphasized the importance of a visit to the Donetsk region and support of the relevant activity of the SES by foreign friends from Switzerland and Germany.

The Head of the Main Directorate, Oleksii Migrin, told the guests about the main directions of the SES activity and stressed that those works performed on the territory of the Donetsk region by SES units with regards to the socio-political situation in the region are specific and not typical for rescuers from other regions of Ukraine. He noted that due to international support, it is possible to save more human lives.

Participants of the meeting visited the Main Directorate of the Emergency and Rescue Special Forces Detachment, where they got familiarized with the equipment and facilities. Particular attention was paid to the network of psychological training of rescuers, the arrangement of which is planned due to the support of GIZ.

Within the framework of the visit, representatives of delegations also visited Part of the diving search and rescue works of the Main Directorate, where they discussed the concept and the possibility of implementing a project for the training of rescuers of the consolidated territorial communities based on the training point of the Emergency and Rescue Special Forces Detachment, in particular, establishment of the Center of the material and technical base.

Background

Since 2015, close cooperation has been established between the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Over the past four years, representatives of the German side provided significant material and methodological assistance to the rescuers of the Donetsk region. Joint projects are still implemented.
