Today, the Parliament has approved a decision to allocate UAH 200 million from the Presidential Fund for Education, Science and Sports to complete the construction of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital.

"Upon the initiative of the President and with the support of the Parliament, the issue of allocation of additional funds for the completion of the construction of the modern medical-diagnostic complex Okhmatdyt has been lifted today. And the new building will be opened next year. This means that children will receive quality treatment in a modern hospital, " Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk commented.

The Head of Government stressed that a sum worth UAH 200 million is the necessary amount that will allow to complete the construction, and the Government will exert every effort to launch the work of this medical facility in the first quarter of next year.

It should be noted that the first turn of a new complex of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital was opened in April, 2019. The complex is equipped with modern medical equipment for patients with serious diagnoses. The total area of whole complex of the updated Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital is more than 67 thousand square meters. The complex consists of several blocks where 10 modern surgery units, 5 oncology and hematology departments as well as department of diagnostics will operate.
