Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi held an online meeting with Austrian Federal Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management Norbert Totschnig.

The Ukrainian Minister thanked the Government of the Republic of Austria for supporting the Grain from Ukraine initiative. The Austrian side has tentatively committed EUR 3.8 million for its implementation.

During the meeting the parties discussed the current state of affairs and urgent needs of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Mykola Solsky stressed the need for additional assistance from international partners, in particular, to ensure the spring sowing campaign. According to him, agrarians primarily need seed material. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine invited the Austrian side to join the international partners that would provide such assistance.

The Ministers exchanged views on the possibility of providing additional support to Ukrainian farmers. The parties agreed to maintain dialogue on further cooperation.
