Ministry of Internal Affairs presented the Community Rescue Officer project: a new approach to the safety of every Ukrainian citizen
During the Safe Community 2025 forum, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko presented a new security project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - the Community Rescue Officer, which is designed to significantly improve the efficiency of the civil protection system on the ground.
A community rescue officer is a specialist of the SES who works directly with the community. His main task is to ensure systematic work on prevention and preparation of the population for possible emergencies.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the initiative is based on the successful experience of the Community Police Officer project, which has demonstrated high efficiency and public trust.
"We care about security in every community, we care about ensuring that this security is organised in every remote settlement. That is why we are introducing such a position as a rescue officer. This is a person who will be responsible for the entire civil protection system in the region. Each specialist will be trained. Courses for officers are already showing their practical component. And we are confident that this officer, together with the entire security system we are creating, will give confidence to every citizen. The task of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to control the entire security situation to the maximum extent possible," said Ihor Klymenko, answering questions from journalists on the sidelines of the forum.
