  • Ministry of Healthcare and European Commission continue to evacuate Ukrainian victims for treatment in Europe
Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 24 December 2022 11:16

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine together with the European Commission continue to organize evacuation flights and transport injured Ukrainian citizens for treatment in European clinics.

This week it was possible to evacuate civilians and military from Kyiv, Odesa and the territories of active hostilities for treatment in Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Norway. The group includes patients with mine-blast injuries and cancer patients.

Medical transportation was provided thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine and the European Commission with the active assistance of regional military administrations and medical institutions, with the support of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

Adults and children with serious injuries, burns and diseases requiring specialized and emergency medical care are being evacuated.

It should be reminded that the evacuation of the population is carried out through the emergency response system of the European Union, when a specialized clinic is promptly searched in one of the EU countries for the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainians. The so-called "medical convoys" are an example of one of the effective ways to rescue patients, when the Ministry submits a request for evacuation and receives proposals from different member states of the European Union and the European Economic Area. Then the Ministry of Healthcare contacts the clinic and agrees on the stages and routes of safe medical transportation.

Since the beginning of the war, the Ministry together with international partners continue to work and do everything possible to save people and provide them with the necessary medical care.

We are working. We shall withstand. We shall win!
