  • Ministry of Health expands cooperation with Médecins Sans Frontières

    Deputy Minister of Health – Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin met with the leadership of branch offices of an international charitable organization, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), operating in Ukraine.

    Representatives of the international organization reported on what had been done since the beginning of russia’s full-scale armed invasion of Ukraine and discussed further plans for 2023.

    The main areas of MSF’s work in 2022:

    • Maintaining mobile hospitals for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and victims of hostilities.
    • Providing psychological assistance to IDPs, military, medical and emergency workers with post-traumatic stress disorder.
    • Opening and supporting the operation of shelter centers for IDPs.
    • Evacuating people from the war zones and providing them with further support.
    • Assistance to victims of sexual violence.
    • Activities in the de-occupied territories.

    “Thank you for your work and help. I am confident that such meetings will contribute to deepening cooperation between our institutions and allow us to work more effectively,” said Ihor Kuzin.

    Among the new areas of priority are:

    • Reconstruction and reopening of medical facilities.
    • Support for laboratories in the epidemiological surveillance system.

    The Ministry continues to engage international partners to mitigate the consequences of russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and to ensure that Ukrainians receive timely medical care.
