The subject of a special meeting chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, was the provision of fuelwood to frontline communities in Kherson region.

Currently, 18,634 vulnerable households in 18 communities in Kherson region are in need of firewood for the winter period.

International humanitarian operators have confirmed their readiness to meet the needs of these households. This includes providing various types of solid fuel: fuelwood, coal, briquettes, firewood and pellets. It also includes the provision of cash support.

As of today, 2,783 households in the region have already received assistance, which is 19% of the total need. The need is expected to be fully met by the end of this year.
