  • International donors to provide EUR 17 million for housing loans for IDPs in Ukraine

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, met with representatives of the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction and the KfW Office in Ukraine.

Since 2021, they have been successfully implementing an affordable housing loan programme for internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

During this period, more than 650 IDPs received loans (at an interest rate of 3% per annum) totalling UAH 892.6 million. This grant programme is implemented by the State Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction with funding from the German Government through KfW.

In 2023, international donors will provide Ukraine with an additional EUR 17 million grant for housing loans for IDPs.

“This is one of the most effective programmes to provide IDPs with affordable housing. I thank everyone involved for helping people in difficult life circumstances. In turn, we will help attract other international donors to the grant programme. This will become a powerful platform for the integration of IDPs into new communities," said Iryna Vereshchuk.
