Recently, the Defense Ministry of Ukraine hosted a ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement between the Ministry and the Ukrainian Strongman Federation.
The document was inked by the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Yurii Finogenov and the president of the Ukrainian Strongman Federation, the world champion, the holder of several records of Ukraine Serhii Koniushok.
The ceremony was attended by the honorary president of the Ukrainian Strongman Federation - the strongest man in the world and Ukraine, the holder of the records of Ukraine and the Guinness Book of Records, Vasyl Virastiuk.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to cooperation in the development of sport in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the involvement of military personnel, members of their families, combatants and veterans in active physical training and sports activities.
"We believe that the signing of the cooperation agreement will promote the strongman movement as a sport and at the same time increase the level of physical training of our defender", said Serhii Koniushok, president of the Ukrainian Strongman Federation.
Strongman training as a sport is actively developing among the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the classes contribute to improving the strength and speed training, endurance and stamina necessary for the military personnel in their professional activities.
