The Ministry of Veterans Affairs, together with the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, will develop a new budget program to provide housing for combatants, in particular, veterans of anti-terror and united forces operations (ATO/UFO), and internally displaced persons.
This was agreed today by Minister for Veterans Affairs Iryna Friz and Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Lev Partskhaladze.
During the meeting, the officials focused on programs of both the state and regional levels to provide housing for servicemen, veterans, and internally displaced persons. Moreover, the two parties discussed the Available Housing Program in effect in Ukraine.
According to the head of the state institution the State Fund for Youth Housing Construction of Ukraine, Serhii Komnantny, there are 4 national and 106 regional state programs providing housing for Ukrainian citizens.
Unfortunately, there is no separate budget program that would apply to ATO/UFO members and internally displaced persons. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a joint state program these categories of citizens would be eligible for.
During the meeting, Iryna Friz and Lev Partskhaladze initiated to appeal with a joint letter to the Ministry of Finance to develop and implement a new program for the provision of housing for ATO/UFO veterans and internally displaced persons.
