Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity: Over the weekend, more than 2 million Ukrainians received payments under the Winter Support program
On December 6-7, the fifth and sixth waves of a 'winter thousand' payments continued — over two days, more than 2 million people received assistance totaling UAH 1.58 billion. During the fifth wave, 1.5 million people who submitted applications in the Diia app between November 23 and 30 received support, and during the sixth wave, nearly 600,000 people who had submitted applications between December 1 and 4 received support.
In the coming days, payments will be made to Diia users who applied between December 5 and 7. Thus, in the new wave of payments, more than UAH 350 million will be distributed among 289,500 Ukrainians.
Since the launch of the Winter Support program, which is being implemented by the Government at the initiative of the President of Ukraine, 15.7 million applications have been received, including those for children. Among them, 12.6 million were submitted through Diia and 1.1 million through Ukrposhta branches. As of today, December 8, more than 11.6 million Ukrainians, including children, have already received assistance.
The amount of payments made through the National Cashback card has exceeded UAH 2.2 billion as of today. Ukrainians most often spend the money on utilities, medicines, books, and charity.
Applications for the 'winter thousand' can be submitted until December 24, 2025, online through Diia or in writing at the nearest Ukrposhta branch.
All Ukrainian citizens residing in the country are eligible for the payment, except for those who are currently abroad or in temporarily occupied territories (TOT). It is intended for all citizens regardless of age — a separate application must be submitted for each child.
It should be noted that the first 13,000 Ukrainians from the most vulnerable categories received a one-time payment of UAH 6,500.
