The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine cares about the availability of quality social services for all victims of domestic and gender-based violence, regardless of their place of residence or mobility.

The Ministry actively supports the creation of not only shelters for victims, crisis rooms, day centres for social and psychological assistance, but also mobile teams. The task of such groups is to counteract and prevent domestic violence in all its manifestations; inform victims of violence about their rights and social services that they can use; and conduct preventive work with perpetrators and outreach.

For example, with the assistance of the Ministry of Social Policy and with the support of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, 106 mobile teams operate in 22 regions of Ukraine. A number of mobile teams’ vehicles throughout Ukraine are also equipped for people with disabilities.

More than 300,000 people have received support from mobile teams of social and psychological assistance since their launch in 2022. 27% of them are survivors of gender-based violence.

Psychological support is an integral part of the work of specialists and a priority need for survivors.

The mobile teams work in coordination with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. The services of the mobile teams are provided thanks to the financial support of the governments of the United States (USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance), Norway (Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv), Sweden (Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv) and the Republic of Korea (Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine).
