An inventory of water and forest resources, as well as objects of state and communal property located on the territory of territorial communities is planned to conduct in Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Chernyshov during a meeting with representatives of ministries, other CEBs and regional state administrations dedicated to considering the implementation of the National Security and Defense Council's decision "On measures of state regional policy to support decentralization." The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources, the State Tax Service, the State GeoCadastre, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Property Fund, the State Water Agency and the State Forest Agency.

"According to information from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Water Agency and the State Forest Agency on surface water sites, the main characteristics of forests and the territories they occupy, now there is a need for thorough systematic work to obtain reliable information about such objects and take measures to digitize them", Oleksii Chernyshov noted.

In turn, Deputy Minister Viacheslav Nehoda stressed that "the task now is to coordinate the work, create a roadmap in each direction and set deadlines. To do this, we need to find out what the problems are and what needs to be done at the central government level."

It should be noted that on the outcomes of the meeting, the participants agreed on the establishment of commissions at the regional level with the involvement of representatives of line ministries and other central executive bodies.

Background

The meeting was held on commission of the Prime Minister of Ukraine in order to clearly organize the implementation of tasks defined by paragraph 5 of the Decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of April 15, 2021 "On measures of state regional policy to support decentralization" enacted by the Order of the President of Ukraine No.180/2021 dated April 29, 2021.
