On May 2, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) signed a joint Memorandum of Cooperation to address humanitarian issues and provide housing for IDPs.

According to the Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Chernyshov, providing housing for victims of the war is a priority for the Ministry, which is working to find appropriate solutions in the short and long term.

"About 13 million Ukrainians have been forced to flee their homes since the beginning of the war. Our task is to return Ukrainians back home and provide them with all the necessary living conditions," Oleksii Chernyshov stressed.

It is planned that the cooperation will contribute to additional support in the implementation of the government's social program "Prykhystok" [Shelter], including attracting additional sources of funding, development and implementation of housing solutions and targeted support programs for IDPs, etc.

The Minister for Communities and Territories Development also noted that attracting international support is an important aspect of this process, as today Ukraine needs an additional assistance from partners to address such issues.
