Ministry of National Unity and UNDP in Ukraine launch cooperation: Memorandum signed

Oleksiy Chernyshov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine, and Jaco Cilliers, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen cooperation in the development and implementation of policies related to national unity, civic identity development, strategic communications and countering disinformation.

The Memorandum envisages cooperation in several areas:

● Developing and implementing joint initiatives, including digital tools, aimed at strengthening national unity and public dialogue.

● Conducting joint research and providing expert support to the Ministry in the development and implementation of national unity policy.

● Developing strategic communications and information campaigns aimed at supporting social cohesion and encouraging citizens to engage in public dialogue.

Strengthening the Ministry's institutional capacity in the areas of strategic communications, strategic planning, transparency and citizen engagement.

● Supporting the creation of conditions for the voluntary return of Ukrainians from abroad, studying public opinion, monitoring the impact of national unity policies and sharing international experience.

We are sincerely grateful to UNDP Ukraine for its willingness to support us in implementing initiatives that are extremely important for the country. The implementation of joint projects will help strengthen the unity of Ukrainians," summed up Oleksiy Chernyshov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.

UNDP Resident Representative Jaco Cilliers said that the signing of the Memorandum is an important step towards realising the common vision of UNDP and the Ministry of National Unity of a united Ukraine based on dialogue, transparency and mutual respect.
