  • EU Foreign Ministers invited Pavlo Klimkin to participate in a meeting to discuss assistance to Ukraine in counteracting Russian aggression in the Azov and Black Seas

    Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met with High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on the sidelines of 25th OSCE Ministerial Council in Milan (Italy).

    The Minister placed a special emphasis on the evidence of the well-planned act of open Russian aggression against Ukraine in the KerchStrait and as a result  the escalation of the security situation in the Black and Azov Seas.

    The parties discussed the situation in  Donbas and the prospects for the deployment of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in support of the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.

    The agenda of the meeting encapsulated ways to further tighten sanctions policy against Russia for undermining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as the EU's support for reforms in the security and defense sector of Ukraine and the implementation of  EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

    In order to discuss further joint actions, the High Representative of the EU invited the Foreign Minister to attend the meeting of the European Union’s  Foreign Affairs Council on December 10 in Brussels.
