Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet met with the Minister of National Education and Youth of the French Republic, Mr. Pap Ndiaye, at the UN Transforming Education Pre-Summit in Paris.
The parties discussed the issue of conducting a National Multi-Subject Test (NMST) for Ukrainian entrants in France and the organization of camps for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children and their families.
530 graduates registered for the test in Paris, 194 - in Marseille, and 99 - in Bordeaux.
Mr Pap Ndiaye said that about 19,000 Ukrainian school-age children are in France and have the opportunity to study in French schools, as all the necessary conditions have been created for this purpose. In addition, the French side is doing everything possible to ensure that children keep in touch with Ukraine, its culture and traditions. With this aim, Ukrainian educators who teach the native language and history are involved in the educational process.
The Minister of National Education and Youth of the French Republic also noted that local teachers are impressed by the high level of knowledge of Ukrainian students, in particular in mathematics.
"During the meeting, the Minister expressed his readiness to support my appeal to the Association of Mayors and the Association of Regions of France regarding the possibility of providing school buses to Ukraine. After all, the issue of transporting children today is one of the key ones in preparation for the beginning of the new school year," Serhii Shkarlet wrote in his telegram channel.
