January 13-14, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko paid an official visit to Singapore. In the framework of the visit, the Minister had meetings and negotiations with Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Home Affairs and Law Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam and Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore Dr. Koh Poh Koon.
In talks with senior officials of Singapore, the Ukrainian Minister expressed his gratitude for the sympathy with the Ukrainian people and the families of those killed in the PS752 UIA plane crash. The Foreign Minister praised the support by Singapore for Ukraine's territorial integrity and thanked separately for the support of the UN resolution on the militarization of the ARC and parts of the Azov and Black Seas.
The parties welcomed the significant increase in trade volumes and the filling of bilateral relations with practical mutually beneficial projects. On the results of the meetings, they agreed to hold a Ukraine-Singapore Business Forum in Singapore and organize a visit of Singaporean business representatives to Ukraine.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Foreign Ministry’s Exporters and Investors Council and the Singapore-China Connectivity Initiative (CCI).
While in Singapore, Vadym Prystaiko spoke to political analysts and experts at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS-Asia).
As part of the Minister's visit to Singapore, a regional conference of heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine in the countries of Southeast Asia was held.
