On August 19, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak together with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ruslan Khomchak held a meeting with high-level strategic advisers from NATO member states.
During the meeting the parties discussed the achievements of Ukraine’s defense reform and importance for further development and reform of the Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces in order to achieve NATO compatibility.
The Minister of Defense emphasized that much has been done in recent years, taken into account Russian armed aggression in the East of the country.
Stepan Poltorak stressed that the security and defense sector needs to be further developed, existing threats and capabilities should be assessed properly.
Minister also expressed words of gratitude to the strategic advisers for their consistent and fruitful cooperation in reforming of the Ministry of Defense, as well as supporting Ukraine in difficult times for our country.
